Our St Barnabas’ School Vision and Rationale for the Reading Curriculum

Our aim at St Barnabas’ School is that all children aspire to master a broad range of skills, knowledge and understanding relating to English and Communication.

Our Vision

  • Developing an enthusiasm and love for Reading.
  • Ensuring that we promote highs standards of language and literacy.
  • Ensuring children fluently express the ideas of themselves and others through a variety of genres in writing, reading, speaking and listening.
  • Enabling children to access reading through a broad selection of reading materials and provide opportunities for purposeful and enjoyable reading.
  • The children becoming lifelong readers so they can pass it on to the next generation.
