I hope you have all had a good weekend.
This week:
In maths we will be moving onto negative numbers which is the last topic in place value. We will recap everything we have learned so far and check our understanding in a short end of unit test on Thursday. On Friday, we will start our new topic, which is four operations, by revisiting column addition.
English - this week, we are going to plan and write our own 'Quest' story. This will be your first proper piece of writing so I am really looking forward to seeing what you all come up with. The ideas you were sharing in class were fantastic so you are obviously an imaginative bunch!
In ICT, we are carrying on our work with effective searching and will use our skills to research our Greek zodiac sign and find out what it says about us.
In RE, we will look at the creation story told in Genesis 1 and consider how it makes us feel. We will then examine the text in more detail and try to decide why it was written and what type of text it is.
In science, we will be looking at inheritance and learning how different traits are passed from parents to their offspring.
In topic, we will be looking at the main eras of Ancient Greece and coming up with a fact sheet/poster about them.
Don't forget the spelling test on Wednesday and the times tables test on Thursday. I have also set some homework for you this week which you should be able to find under classwork. I will hand out paper copies to anyone that needs them in class tomorrow.
