- Science
Testing for conductors and insulators: my explanation of the results
Yesterday in class we conducted our experiment. The conductors (materials that made the light bulb come on when placed in the circuit) were the paper clip and foil. The cotton wool, plastic, wood and cardboard were insulators (materials that did not make the light bulb come on). Answer the following questions:
- What material is both a conductor and an insulator?
- Were your predictions right?
- We noticed that if we used less crocodile clips the bulb was brighter. Why do you think this happened?
- We also noticed that when we put another bulb into the circuit the bulbs became less bright. Why do you think this happened?
