1.Spelling activities for Thursday and Friday mornings

I have uploaded 2 Classroom Secrets spelling activities and a power point slide about using the suffixes ation, sion, ssion, tion or cian.  Work through the Varied Fluency today and the Application and Reasoning tomorrow.  Answers are given.  Please complete the sheet that you normally work from.

2. Maths

Please remember to pause the video when you need to do calculations and give yourself plenty of time. I have also uploaded the worksheet and answers.  If you feel confident I have also uploaded the Classroom Secrets power point slides Multiply 3-Digits by 2-Digits with Reasoning and Problem Solving worksheets and answers.

1. Using the pages from ‘You Wouldn’t Want to Be a Victorian Schoolchild!’ (that we read and discussed during our live session yesterday) start to plan (not write!) your diary account of your school day as a Victorian schoolchild. As discussed yesterday, remember to include the features of a diary account.  These are:

* Include date and/or time the entry was written

* Write in the first person

* Use the past tense

* Tell events in chronological order

* Include personal feelings and emotions

* Use paragraphs to organise your writing

* Use time fronted adverbial, for example – Eventually, Next, After that, After a while, Always, Afterwards, Later, Immediately, Before long

2. Continue with your new ‘Talk for Writing’ Booklet.  ‘Wonderful Wizards’. If you have written the instructions of how to create a Wizard Potion, move onto page 26 and choose one of the activities.

4. Reading

Please remember to read independently for 40 minutes!  When you log onto Purple Mash you will see that I have given you an e-book to read ‘Ollie and the Great Stink’.  I have now given you all the chapters of the e-book to read.  You now have available Chapters 1-6.

For your 30 minute Guided Reading Session I would like you to complete the reading comprehension questions for Chapters 12 and 13 of ‘Street Child’.

2. Topic and Science

Please use this session to work on your ‘My Famous Victorian Project’ and finish jotting down your observations about the photos of Victorian children that we discussed on Tuesday, during our live lesson.  For Science, look carefully at the power point slides I showed you during our live session yesterday and check that you have included the key scientific vocabulary when writing your prediction and explaining your results.
