Dear Chestnut Class

 

These are your home learning tasks for the day:

 

Independent reading – please read for at least 30 minutes and record this in your yellow reading records.

 

Class reader – The Iron Man. Today I would like you to read chapter 2.  It is attached to this blog post.  I have marked the text with page numbers that match the original text.  They will help when you answer the questions later in the week and are directed to specific pages.

 

Spellings – we are going to focus on –ture words.  I have attached some flash cards for you to practise.  Try writing them out a few times each and then place the flash cards face down.  Ask someone to pick one up and test you on it.

 

English – Goblinology booklet.  Please read the Cloud Goblin information text and complete the quiz.  You will find these tasks on pages 8 and 9 of the booklet you received last week.

Then complete the worksheet attached to this blog post.  I have also attached the answers.

 

Maths fluency – I have set a Purple Mash ‘2-do’ activity.

 

Topic – following on from last week’s powerpoint on government, I would like you to complete the task on issues that are important to you.  This is attached to the blog post.  Please remember that while there are 3 sheets in this attachment, I only expect you to complete 1.
