Term 2 Week 6

Here is an outline of your learning for term 2 week 6

Term 2 Week 6 – overview

 

We will be rehearsing for our carol service this week.

 

We have our final Monday morning ukulele lesson of the term with Mr Lawrence.

 

Spelling and grammar – We will be practising the year 3 and 4 spelling list words.  We will also be learning about adverbials of manner and time.

 

In English we be working on our gladiator training instructions.  We have now done research into life in a training school and will be applying features of instructions to create our final piece of writing.

 

In Maths we will continuing to work on efficient subtraction methods and checking strategies.

 

In guided reading we will be considering how the Iron Man will help the world deal with the arrival of the space bat angel dragon!

 

In RE our new unit of focus is incarnation.  This week we are interviewing Father John about how belief in the Trinity impacts the life of a Christian.

 

Mrs Tompsett will be teaching Science on Thursday afternoons.  This term’s topic is electricity.

 

In art we will be continuing to look at pattern.  We have collected examples of pattern and will be creating our own patterned papers to use to make a Christmas card.

 

PE is on MONDAY MORNING and THURSDAY AFTERNOON and with Mr Luckhurst.  

 

Reading records have been sent home with most children choosing a book from the selection in class.  All children have an additional book in their tray for reading sessions in class.  Please could we have reading records in school to be checked on a Wednesday morning.  

 

Homework will be issued this Wednesday and is due in on the following Monday.
