Here is an outline of your learning for term 6, week 5

Term 6 week 5

Spelling sessions this week will be used to review the year 3 and 4 statutory list.  This term we will be consolidating the grammar we have learned over the year and will be revisiting root words and fronted adverbials

In whole class guided reading we are continuing with our text ‘The Boy Who Grew Dragons’ with comprehension questions.

We will continue to explore the film/poem entitled Junk, the Story of Jasper O’Leary.  We will be working on performing poetry together and identifying the rhythm.  We will also be identifying other poetic devices used and brainstorm ideas for our own ‘junk’ poems.

We will continue with decimals in our maths lessons, focusing on tenths on place value grids and number lines.  We will move on to using this knowledge to divide 1 and 2 digit numbers by 10.

In RE we will continue to learn about Hindu worship and celebration.  This week we will be learning about Diwali.

In Science we will be learning about adaptation in plants and animals.

In our topic session we will be learning about the archaeological evidence provided at Sutton Hoo and what it tells us about Anglo Saxon life.
