Term 6, Week 4

Here is an outline of your learning for term 6, week 4

Term 6 week 4

Spelling sessions this week will focus on adding the suffix ‘ly’ to words ending with y, le and ic.  This term we will be consolidating the grammar we have learned over the year and will be revisiting direct speech and noun types.

In whole class guided reading we are continuing with our text ‘The Boy Who Grew Dragons’ with comprehension questions based on chapters 24 and 25

We will be carrying out end of year assessments in Maths and English this week.

In RE we will continue to learn about Hindu worship.  Moving on from worship at home, we will be learning about worship in the mandir, which is the name for a Hindu temple.  We will be learning about what takes place there and why, and comparing and contrasting it to other forms of worship we are familiar with.

In science we will be classifying vertebrates and invertebrates

We will be learning about the Picts and Scots during Anglo Saxon times.  The Angles, Jutes and Saxons who we now call Anglo Saxons, did not immediately manage to conquer the peoples of northern England.
