Term 2, week 7

As we approach the festive holiday, we will be busy with lots of singing practice, Carol Concert rehearsals and general preparations. As a result, there will be no homework this week! If you wish, the children can increase their reading and practice times tables/number bonds.  There are a number of fun activities on Purple Mash, which can be used for this and the children can ask for a copy of their log in details if necessary.

A quick reminder too, we still need contributions for the class hamper. Many thanks if you have sent something in already, but if not, please do have a hunt at home and send in any unwanted items. Please don’t worry if they are not gold, as we have gold wrapping paper!

In English this week, we will be finalising our unit based on the Stone Aged Boy by Satoshi Kitamura. Using the text to help us, we will write the endings to our own stories based on the book.

In Maths this week we will build on the addition and subtraction unit, continuing to focus on adding and subtracting two numbers. We will try to squeeze a times table challenge into the week, as this is always popular!

In design technology this week we will finish making our Christmas decorations. They are looking fantastic.

PE on Monday will be tag rugby and swimming is on Tuesday as usual. The children will need full PE kit, swimming costume/trunks, a towel, a swimming cap - this is required by the swimming pool, and goggles (although these are optional).

Reading Records will still be changed on Monday and Thursday, time permitting. If you would like your child to have two books over the holiday period, please let me know.

I am always happy to answer any questions you may have, so please do contact me if you have any queries, using the class email address:
