Term 6, week 5

Our last full week of the year! We have lots to fit in this week, so there will be a degree of flexibility in the timetable! We are off to visit the new Amelia Scott centre on Thursday morning and will be spending time in the school garden again.

In maths this week, we are going to have a look at shapes, investigating angles and turns and then having some fun with 3D shapes.

In English, we will be diary writing, creating our own diaries around the story of Howard Carter’s discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun, to compliment our Ancient Egyptian topic.

In topic work this week, we will take a final look at flowers and why they are so important, and will be finding out if our dried flowers have been a success! We will also complete our Tutankhamun masks this week too, as they have taken a little longer than planned!

Mrs Johnson will finish off the Sikhism unit in RE.

Maple class have PE on Thursday and Friday this week, but please do remember to send them in with a hat and water bottle, and apply sun cream before school if possible. If the weather is too hot, we will not go to the field, but please do allow for this and send the children with shorts, as joggers are really too warm at the moment.

The final homework for this year will be sent out on Tuesday, to be returned the following Monday as usual. Reading Records should still come into school daily, and we will aim to change the books on Monday and Thursday as usual.

I am happy to answer any questions you may have so please do contact me if you have any queries, using the class email address:
