Term two, week seven

What an amazing time we had ice skating Friday! I hope the children enjoyed it as much as the adults, and I expect, like me, they all slept well Friday night! I wanted to say a huge thank you to all the adults who helped to make it such a special treat for everyone. The children’s behaviour was impeccable, and I was very proud of them all.

This week we will once again rehearse for the carol concert, visiting the church to practice our singing before the and main event Tuesday pm. The children have worked so hard with their singing and, given that they have not had many opportunities to sing Christmas carols, I think they are doing incredibly well and sound beautiful.

In maths this week, we will finish the addition and subtraction unit, and hopefully have time for some mathematical Christmas problem-solving. In English this week we will finish our Stone Age stories.

In RE, Mrs Johnson and the class will make additional links between some Bible texts and the idea of God in Christianity, continuing to express ideas of their own about what the God of Christianity is like.

Maple class will still have PE on Thursday and Friday, but I am hoping to bring a little festive fun into the Thursday session!

There will be no homework this week, but there are still ideas on the Wider Curriculum sheet if the children want some activities over the Christmas break. Any reading they do over Christmas can be recorded in their reading records, whether school or home books.

I am, as always, happy to answer any questions you may have, so please do contact me if you have any queries, using the class email address:

Finally, I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Best wishes
