Term 6, Week 1

Learning for week beginning 7th June.

Welcome back, what glorious weather we had for our week off. Certainly feels like summer now.

A few more weeks to go before the end of Year 3 and a lot to pack in.

An email will be coming out about an amazing Ancient Egyptian workshop we have managed to book for 28th June. The children worked hard in Beech Class to raise money for a school trip which we unfortunately did not get to go on. The money that they raised has been put towards this workshop, so there is no cost for parents/ carers to pay.

What are we learning this week

Maths - we are going to look back and spend the next couple of weeks recapping our addition and subtraction techniques. We learnt these techniques at the beginning of the year and a lot has gone on since then, so we need a recap before moving onto multiplication and divisions.

English - We are going to start looking at non-fiction texts this week. We will start by exploring the features and looking at how we will begin writing our own texts.

Reading - We will be carrying on with Flat Stanley and the great Egyptian Grave Robbery.

Home Learning

Reading books - These will be changed Tuesday and Thursday this week.

In books - Have a go at answering the maths question focusing on addition and subtraction.

Online - Have a look at Purple Mash, a 2Do has been set for you to challenge you to correctly identify the different parts of a section of story.
