Term 3 Week 5

This week we are learning... 

Welcome to week 5. We know home learning is hard, and everyone involved is having to adapt a lot but we wanted to say how proud of you all we are.

Reading – Please continue to read for 30 minutes a day. We will be reading Chapter 5 of ‘Stig of the Dump’ this week and continuing with the comprehension questions. On Thursday @1pm we have our Google Meet session, please join us, we love seeing you all.

SPAG – This week we will be exploring complex sentences and looking at apostrophes for plural possession.

English – We are starting a new story this week. Linking to our science topic of Rocks we will be looking at the story ‘The Stone Trolls’ by Dean Thompson. We will be using the story to explore the meaning of words, comprehension and playing different grammar games. It is also National Story Telling Week. Please join us Tuesday @ 11am for a live session focused on this, more information will follow shortly.

Maths – We will be consolidating our multiplication and division facts this week.

Wider curriculum – In Monday’s topic session we will look at how farming evolved during prehistoric times. RE,  we will continue with our journey into Sikhism. We will also cover PE, and Science. We feel that Maple Class need a bit of TLC this week and so would also like you to take part in a wellbeing activity on Wednesday based on the ‘Colour Monster’.
