This Week's Learning

Term 5 Week 3

In English and Communication this week, we are planning and writing a section of dialogue between the hero and villain in our class quest. We will use different types of sentences and utilise synonyms for said.

In Phonics, we are using 'ey' to make the /ee/ sound- key, monkey, donkey, money, honey, chimney, valley, turkey. Our tricky words for the week are 'heart' and 'dangerous'. Our grammar focus is to use exclamation marks to show emotion or shouting.

In Maths, we are turning our attention towards fractions. First, we will explore the concept of parts and whole. Next we will explore equal and unequal parts. Finally, we will find halves of shapes, objects and amounts.

In Science and Computing, we are going to continue and complete writing out scientific conclusions for our plants investigations. Next, we will begin to explore the concept of habitats.

In Time and Place, we will use the 'Street Through Time' resource and other secondary sources of information to explore why knights and castles became obsolete.

We will also complete Mastering Number, Guided Reading, PE, Design and the Arts and Wellbeing lessons as well. If you would like to know more about any of these activities, please do not hesitate to contact us using the class email address.
