Thursday 4th February

Remember to read at home for at least 20 minutes today. Please also tune into Beech Story Time at 9:45. This week we are going share an Oxford Owl reading book and then complete the activities as a group. The link was sent out on Friday. Please just ask if you need the link sent out again.

Outdoor Learning-

Today we are going to take a break from our writing activity so we can focus on some outdoor learning. Please tune into the following link at 10:30am to join us for a live session entitled: ‘Brilliant Birds’

FSC | Primary Nature Live | Brilliant Birds - YouTube

This is a live session provided the Field Studies Council. We have also attached an activity sheet that can be completed at home.

Today, I am going to ask you to use your understanding of division to complete some reasoning with division problems.

Some of these problems are pretty tricky. If you get stuck, please let me know so I can help you work them out.

Number Fluency-

Start by watching Mr M’s learning video in which he explores how our understanding of multiplication and the 2, 5 and 10 times tables can be used to work out some of the 3 times tables.

Now use the techniques explored in this video to start learning your 3 times tables.

This week we are going to start a new Gymnastics unit of study. We are going to begin by exploring balances.

In this lesson, we will learn the basic balances and explore the different ways we can show these. We will think about how we can exercise safely in our home environment. Please note this lesson will require some physical exercise and additional equipment, beyond a pen, pencil or paper. Please see the equipment slide near the start of the lesson video and make sure your child is adequately supervised when equipment is required. Parents and carers are responsible for ensuring that children follow the correct safety advice provided at the start of this lesson and the instructions the teacher gives during the lesson. Parents and carers are responsible for supervising activities where required and for seeking medical advice in advance if your child has a medical condition that may prevent them taking part in physical activity.
