Term 5 Week 3

Here is an overview of our learning activities for week commencing 1st May 2023.

In our Phonics lessons we will be learning about words containing the ‘ed’ suffix, such as ‘jumped’, ‘looked’ and ‘gasped’. We will also be reading the words ‘April’ and ‘July’, writing the words ‘please’ and ‘once’ and revisiting alternative ways of making the ‘igh’ sound.

In Maths we will be making equal groups by grouping objects and making equal groups by sharing objects. We will also be placing numbers on a number line in our fluency work.

This week the class will be taking part in some Coronation activities. On Tuesday morning the class will be looking at the story of The King’s Hats by Sheila May Bird and designing their own hats. On Friday we will be talking about the Coronation of King Charles III and doing some art and writing activities linked to the Coronation.

This week in RE we will be learning about the Islamic story of the Prophet and the Ants. In Computing, we will be using the Bee-Bots and programming them to move in different directions. Willow class have PE on Wednesday morning and Thursday morning. Please make sure that your child has their PE kit in school on these days.
