Term 6 Week 4

Here is an overview of our learning activities for week commencing 27th June 2022.

This is a busy week for Willow Class. On Tuesday we will be visiting Scotney Castle to look at the plants growing in its grounds and will also hopefully visit the house. Please remember your child will need to wear school uniform and have a water bottle and packed lunch to take with them.

It is Sports Day on Thursday and this will take place on the field from 10:30am to 11:30am. Please make sure that your child has a full PE kit with them on Thursday, including a T-shirt in their house colour and suitable sports shoes.

In Phonics this week we will be learning about words ending in ‘ce’ (such as dance), ‘se’ (such as horse), ‘ve’ (such as serve) and ‘ze’ (such as freeze) where the ‘e’ is unspoken. We will also be reading the words ‘know’ and ‘colour’. In English we will be writing about our trip of Scotney Castle and starting a fact file on Asia.

In Maths we will be learning about money. This week will be learning to recognise different coins and notes and will be counting in coins to find different amounts. As part of our Maths fluency work we will be adding and subtracting 2 from numbers up to 10 and looking at recalling number bonds for 10.

In RE we will be continuing to learn about Buddhism and this week we will be learning about the story of the Monkey King.
