Term 4 Week 5

Here is an overview of our learning activities for week commencing 21st March 2022.

We will be continuing to work on our Traction Man story. This week we will be describing the hazards faced by the characters in our story (lava, a sleeping cat, shark scissors and some cars driven by caterpillars).

In our Phonics lessons we will be learning about words where ‘c’ makes a ‘s’ sound such as pencil. We will also be recapping different ways of making the ‘igh’ sound including the i-e split digraph (slide), ‘ie’ digraph (lie) and ‘y’ phoneme in words with one syllable (my).

In Maths we will be learning about measuring weight and mass. This week we will be using cubes to find the mass of objects, comparing the mass of objects and will solve some maths problems involving mass.

In RE this week we will be continuing to think of ways in which Christians show their beliefs about Jesus’ death and resurrection in their worship at Easter Time. We will also start to reflect on our big question of why we think Easter is important to Christians.

In our Science work we will be continuing to complete our weather charts and will be talking about the change we have noticed in the local area with the arrival of spring. In our Art lesson we will be continuing to create our own artwork in the style of Alma Thomas. We will talk about which aspects of her artwork we like and why.
