This week in Phonics we will be learning some new letter sounds: ‘ir’ as in girl, ‘aw’ as in claw, ‘au’ as in author and ‘ue’ as in true.

In Maths we will be finishing off our work on addition and moving on to learning about subtraction. This week we will be adding on more, finding the missing part of a number sentence, subtracting by taking away and comparing number bonds using <, > and =.

In English we are continuing to focus on the story of the 3 Little Pigs. This week we will be writing a character description for the Big Bad Wolf, using time connectives to order the story and starting to write instructions on how to build a house for one of the Little Pigs.

In our Computing lesson we will be discussing grouping and sorting information and will complete some activities on Purple Mash.

In RE we will be starting to look at the Nativity story and will be talking about the key events in the story.

In our topic work this week, we will be learning about Remembrance Day and its significance. We will also be building houses for the 3 Little Pigs.
