In Phonics this week we will be learning about alternative spellings for the ‘ear’ sound (‘ear’ like in beard, ‘eer’ like in deer and ‘ere’ like in sphere). In English our learning will be based around the book ‘Where The Wild Things Are’ by Maurice Sendak We will be acting out the story, drawing a story map and writing a description of some of the scenes from the book. As part of our PSHE learning we will be discussing Max’s emotions in the book and why he might feel like that. In Maths we will be finding a quarter of a shape and a quarter of a group of objects.

This week in RE we will be learning about the Hindu story of Rama and Sita. In our topic work we will be talking about Christopher Columbus and his journeys. In Art we will be making some artwork using leaves and wood in a similar style to Andy Goldsworthy.
