Term 5 Week 1

Lilac Class visit the Amelia!

Lilac Class spent the morning at the Amelia Scott Centre for a Victorian extravaganza...

Lilac Class visited The Amelia Scott Centre to take part in a Victorian Workshop.  We found out about how much Queen Victoria loved Tunbridge Wells when she came to visit in 1834 and 1855 by reading extracts from her journal.  We were shown lots of photographs of Tunbridge Wells taken during her reign.  Lilac Class had the opportunity to handle a range of artefacts and to investigate what they could have been used for.  We also explored the centre.  We completed a fact file sheet by going on a ‘History Trail’ around the Victorian exhibits.  There was also time for us to eat our snack outside in the courtyard of the centre!
