Term 6, week 4

I have been so impressed with the children this week. They have completed all the assessments with enthusiasm and perseverance. Next week we are looking forward to our Sports Event!

Whole Class Reading: This week we will be reading an extract from The Wild Robot, by Peter Brown. The children will share the text, answering a variety of questions relating to inference, retrieval and vocabulary.

Maths: We will continue the fractions unit, comparing and ordering unit and non-unit fractions on a number line.

Art: we are continuing to make our puppets.

Science and Computing will continue as normal. Mrs Duncombe will be leading the science unit, all about flowering plants.

Time and Place: we are continuing our Ancient Egypt topic work, this week looking at some of the key achievements and inventions from this era.

RE: In RE, we are discussing the Kingdom of God, and looking at how the Lord’s Prayer relates to Christians today.

PE: This week, we have our Sports Event on Tuesday morning, and then PE as normal on Wednesday and Friday. Please send your child in with a hat and water bottle.

Homework will be on Tuesday as normal, and is due back Monday 29th June. Please note, it is not necessary to complete all the quizzes on Purple Mash! (Please choose one of the options).

If you have any questions this week, or at any point in the year, please email the class email: maple@st-barnabas.kent.sch.uk. For any urgent messages, please email the main office email.

Kind regards

Mrs Smallcombe and the Maple Team
