Term 3, week 4

I was very proud of the children last week, they worked so hard on their assessments. Back to normal this week!
English: this week, we are starting a new unit, based on the book ‘King of the Sky’, by Nicola Davies.
Maths: we are continuing the multiplication unit, focusing on multiplying and dividing by three.
Whole Class Reading: this week, we will be reading an extract from Charlotte’s Webb, by EB White. The children will investigate the vocabulary, retrieve information and summarise the information, in pairs, individually and as a whole class.
Art: this week, we will be continuing the portrait unit, including further investigating the art of Pablo Picasso.
RE: building on from last week, we will be investigating further aspects of how Sikhs worship.
Time and Place: we will investigate how volcanoes are formed.
PE: PE is on Wednesday and Friday as usual and we will be continuing the gymnastics unit.
In addition, we will also be doing Science and Computing with Mrs Banner.
Homework will be issued Tuesday as normal, and is due back the following Monday. In addition, please send your children in with their reading records on Mondays and Thursdays. If your child needs a book changed on other days, we will do our best to accommodate this.
If you have any questions, at any point in the year, please email the class email: maple@st-barnabas.kent.sch.uk. For any urgent messages, please email the main office email.
Kind regards
Mrs Smallcombe and the Maple Team
