Happy New Year! I hope you have all had an enjoyable holiday and that the children are looking forward to returning to school.

This week in Maple Class:

English: in English this week, we will be inventing dragons!  We will use our ideas to create an advert for a Dragon Hunter.

Maths: we will be starting the new Multiplication and Division unit this week, focusing on equal groups and using arrays.

Art: this week, we will be starting the portrait unit.

RE: we will start looking at Sikhism this week.

Time and Place: for the next few weeks, we will be discovering lots of facts about volcanoes.

PE: we will have PE on Wednesday and Friday as usual and will be moving on to the gymnastics unit. Please add socks to your child’s PE kit, especially if they wear tights, as this unit requires the children to be bare-footed.

In addition, we will also be doing Science and Computing with Mrs Banner.

I am not issuing any homework this week, but we still have the Wider Curriculum Matrix if you wish to choose an activity.
