This week in Maple Class:

English: this week, we will be continuing with the Holiday Brochure unit, further developing our sentence structures and including similes, imperative verbs and alliteration.

Whole Class Reading: this week we are looking at the lyrics from the song ‘Somewhere Only We Know’. The children will discuss the vocabulary and answer comprehension questions, both as a group, in pairs and independently. We will also watch the video and discuss the impact of the animations.

Maths: This week we will continue focusing on adding and subtracting, further investigating crossing tens and hundreds.

Art: this week, we will be continuing a DT project involving recycled fabrics.

RE: this term, we are continuing the Incarnation unit and investigating the Trinity.

PE is on a Wednesday and Friday this term, and we will be starting the yoga unit. It would be helpful if the children could have spare socks in their PE kit over the next few weeks. Please ensure your child has their full PE kit in school.

In addition, we will also be doing Science and Computing with Mrs Banner.

Homework will be issued on Tuesday as usual, and is due back next Monday. If you have any concerns about the homework, please email the Maple Class email or pop a note in the Home Learning book. Please try to read with the children and encourage them to put their reading records and homework books in the basket in the classroom.
