Term 2, week 4

This week in Maple Class:
On Tuesday afternoon, we will be walking to the Trinity Theatre to see Sonic The Hedgehog 3. We will be walking there and back, so please send your children in with coats.
English: this week, we will be continuing with the Holiday Brochure unit, further developing our sentence structures, including similes and imperative verbs.
Whole Class Reading: this week we have a poem, Be Glad Your Nose is On Your Face! The children will discuss the vocabulary and answer comprehension questions, both as a group, in pairs and independently. We will also spend time ‘performing’ the poem.
Maths: This week we will continue focusing on adding and subtracting, further investigating crossing tens and hundreds.
Art: this week, we will be finishing the still life unit for those not yet completed and starting a DT project involving recycled fabrics.
RE: this term, we are continuing the Incarnation unit and investigating the Trinity, looking at texts relating to baptism and the Trinity.
PE is on a Wednesday and Friday this term, and we will be continuing the netball unit this week. Please ensure your child has their full PE kit in school.
In addition, we will also be doing Science and Computing with Mrs Banner.
Homework will be issued on Tuesday as usual, and is due back next Monday. If you have any concerns about the homework, please email the Maple Class email or pop a note in the Home Learning book. Please try to read with the children and encourage them to put their reading records and homework books in the basket in the classroom.
If you have any questions, at any point in the year, please email the class email: maple@st-barnabas.kent.sch.uk. For any urgent messages, please email the main office email.
Kind regards
Mrs Smallcombe and the Maple Team
