Term 5, week 5
Published 18/05/25, by Rachael SmallcombeSwimming last week was a great success, with all the children saying that they felt they had made progress and were loving the time in the pool. Again, this week, each group will spend 30 minutes in the pool every day, and I am sure they will continue to enjoy the lessons this week.
Maths – in maths, we will be continuing the fraction unit, with the children comparing unit fractions and then looking at non-unit fractions.
In Art, we will be continuing work on our still-life project.
PE will be on Monday as usual, but swimming will take priority on Friday. We will be continuing with athletics this week.
Science – our science will be all about plants for the remainder of this term, and moving into term 6.
Time and Place – we will continue with our Ancient Egyptian topic.
Homework will be issued on Tuesday and is due back the following Monday. If you have any questions about the homework, or if your child is having difficulty completing the work, please email, or leave a note in the homework book.
Reading Records can come in every day, but should always be sent in on a Monday and Thursday. Books will be changed on those two days, but we will also do our best to change books every day if necessary. If you have any questions about your child’s reading level, please get in touch.
If you have any questions, at any point in the year, please email the class email: maple@st-barnabas.kent.sch.uk. For any urgent messages, please email the main office email.
Kind regards
Mrs Smallcombe and the Maple Team
