This Week's Learning

Term 1 Week 4
In English and Communication this week we are going to start writing a first person diary entry from the point of view of Samuel Pepys. We are going to begin with simple sentences and then explore how adverbial phrases and conjunctions can be used to add detail.
In Phonics, we are going to explore how 'y' makes the /igh/ sound. Our tricky words will be 'door' and 'floor'. Our grammar focus is using capital letters and full stops to punctuate sentences.
In Maths, we will begin the week by estimating numbers on a number-line. Next we will compare objects and numbers. Finally, we will order objects and numbers.
In Science and Computing, we will explore the benefits of using IT to complete specific tasks, both at school and in the wider world.
In Time and Place, we are going to explore the concepts of cause and consequence. We will use these ideas to help explore the Great Fire of London.
We will also complete Mastering Number, PE, RE and Guided Reading sessions as well. If you have any questions, please contact us using the class email address.
