This week, we have been learning to use bar models, part-whole models and calculations to record our findings.
Do you want to practise your number bonds to 10?
Step 1: Print out the 10 grid attached to this blog post.
Step 2: Make your own double sided counters. Cut out 10 small circles of card. Colour one side blue and the other side red.
Step 3: Pick a number between 1 and 10.
Step 4: Use your double sided counters to find all the different ways to make your target number. Record them using addition calculations. e.g. 3+2=5
Step 5: Check your answers using the attached files.
We took the information sentences that we created last week and explored how we could use the and/but connectives to add additional clauses.
Earlier in the week we came up with lots of questions that we wanted to find out about The Great Fire of London. We picked 2 questions to investigate further. We were given lots of sources of information and we worked in teams of 3 to examine the evidence and make historical discoveries. We recorded our discoveries by creating information sentences. We published all the sources of information and the information sentences we created on our working wall.
