Last week, we wrote some outstanding letters to Boa Quyen and Loc; our Vietnamese pen-pals at the British Vietnamese International School in Ho Chi Minh City.
If you are solving a division problem with a small 'altogether' number or you are not confident in using your counting skills. Try using a diagram to represent the problem. You could use sorting circles or a bar model.
We can also use our counting in 2s, 5s and 10s skills to solve division problems.
Sometimes you might be asked to solve a multiplication question involving numbers in which you are not yet able to count up in: 3s for example.
One method of solving multiplication problems is to count up in 2s, 5s or 10s.
This week we have been using a hundred square to add and subtract multiples of 10.
Mr Mackinnon took the information from this tricky problem and put it into a bar model.
Look at the empty box calculation in the picture. Mr Mackinnon has used the information from the empty box calculation to create a bar model. Can you complete the bar model and use it to fill in the missing box?
Last week, Beech Class went on a fantastic trip to the park. We learned all about habitats and plant/animal adaptation.
