While learning from home, you should be aiming for at least 20 minutes reading per day. You could read the book that is in your book bag, pick a book from home or complete the reading comprehension activity that is added to this blog post. Next term we are learning about The Great Fire of London so we have added a comprehension activity based on this subject. You can pick the 1, 2 or 3 star challenge depending on how confident you are reading the text.
Today, we want you to watch the following learning video which is all about adding 2-digit numbers where you have to cross a 10s barrier. We started looking at this last week but this video should refresh and extend your learning.
Aut2.8.2 - Add two 2-digit numbers - crossing 10 on Vimeo
When you have watched the video, please have a go at the worksheet attached to this blog post. We have also added the answers so you can check and mark your own work.
To complete your English learning this week we need to learn how to add the –ing suffix. In this learning video, Mr M explains how to add the –ing and –ed suffix to regular root verbs.
When you have watched this learning video, look at the list of regular root verbs attached to this post. Can you add the –ed and –ing suffix to all of them?
EXTENSION: Can you use some of these words to write complete sentences?

Thanks for all your support with this year’s nativity. The children sang beautifully and everyone new their lines perfectly.
We have now finished filming and are just editing it all together. We are planning on Premiering it as an unlisted video on YouTube on Wednesday 16th December at 5:30pm.
As soon as the video is complete, we will generate a link and send it out to you via ParentPay. You can then follow this link directly to the video.
The video will become live at 5:30pm on Wednesday so we can sit down, have a glass of something delicious, and all watch the nativity together.
We are looking forward to it!
Merry Christmas
The Beech Team
