Teddie's First Person Action Sentences
Teddie, we love these first person action sentences that you created.

These sentences are going to be the basis for a wonderful piece of diary writing next week.
Keep up to date with all the exciting activities and events happening in Year 2 by following us on our blog.

Here is what Eva had to say about Dinosaur Safari:
I enjoyed reading it because it had dinosaurs in it and I like learning about dinosaurs.
Maybe you might be interested in reading this book too. If so you can find in by logging in to your Oxford Owl account.
Remember to read for at least 20 minutes at home today. You can also tune into next chapter of The Witches.

We want you to imagine that this is a video of Samuel Pepys visit to the Frost Fair. Today we are going to write a series of action sentences that tell the audience what Pepys did.
Start by watching Mr M’s learning video in which we model how to create high quality action sentences describing what SP did.
Ideally, I would like you to write a high quality action sentence for each picture. If you are finding this a real challenge, focus on doing 4 or 6 really great sentences, rather than 8 ok sentences.
When your sentences are complete, please send them in so we can give you some feedback and add your work to a class bank of ideas for next week.
Today, I would like you to try these division reasoning problems. They focus primarily on using the dividing by 2, 5 and 10.
Some of these challenges are really tricky, so please do not hesitate to ask for help if you need it.
We have set some MyMaths and PurpleMash activities on 3 times tables. Feel free to use your times table number-line to help you answer these questions.
3D Great Fire of London House
Here is the Learning Objective for today: To use junk modelling to make sculptural forms and improve painting skills.
Resources - cardboard boxes (or card/paper to build your own), tissue paper (or scrap pieces of paper from magazines or newspapers), glue, paint, sticky tape.

Our Friday afternoon challenge is to create a '1666 Great Fire of London House', on fire (!), using your knowledge of the houses during this time period. You could just make one house or you could make a scene as shown in the photo above.
As always we would love to see your designs.
Sesha- we love the watch you made. Perhaps you can use it to help you when we learn to tell the time later in the year.
This is what Sesha imagined houses in London might look like after the Great Fire.
What a beautiful foundation stone Robert!
Remember to read at home for at least 20 minutes today. Please also tune into Beech Story Time at 9:45. This week we are going share an Oxford Owl reading book and then complete the activities as a group. The link was sent out on Friday. Please just ask if you need the link sent out again.
Today we are going to take a break from our writing activity so we can focus on some outdoor learning. Please tune into the following link at 10:30am to join us for a live session entitled: ‘Brilliant Birds’
FSC | Primary Nature Live | Brilliant Birds - YouTube
This is a live session provided the Field Studies Council. We have also attached an activity sheet that can be completed at home.
Today, I am going to ask you to use your understanding of division to complete some reasoning with division problems.
Some of these problems are pretty tricky. If you get stuck, please let me know so I can help you work them out.
Start by watching Mr M’s learning video in which he explores how our understanding of multiplication and the 2, 5 and 10 times tables can be used to work out some of the 3 times tables.
Now use the techniques explored in this video to start learning your 3 times tables.
This week we are going to start a new Gymnastics unit of study. We are going to begin by exploring balances.
In this lesson, we will learn the basic balances and explore the different ways we can show these. We will think about how we can exercise safely in our home environment. Please note this lesson will require some physical exercise and additional equipment, beyond a pen, pencil or paper. Please see the equipment slide near the start of the lesson video and make sure your child is adequately supervised when equipment is required. Parents and carers are responsible for ensuring that children follow the correct safety advice provided at the start of this lesson and the instructions the teacher gives during the lesson. Parents and carers are responsible for supervising activities where required and for seeking medical advice in advance if your child has a medical condition that may prevent them taking part in physical activity.

Here is what Phoebe had to say about the book:
“I liked this book because it is an exciting book about Mars and I like the bit where they went up to space because I really like space.”
If you read a great book at home, send us in a quick review so we can recommned it tou the rest of the class!
Here is Einoras' design for a house that could be built after The Great Fire.
Can you see if it meets all of King Charles' requirements?

This is what Phoebe had say about her house design:
“It is a rich person’s house because it has a fire mark which means if you have another fire they’ll put the fire out. It’s built out of bricks and had stone and tiles on the roof so it couldn’t catch on fire so easily.”
Bella used Minecraft to design the type of house that people were allowed to build after the Great Fire.

What a great idea!
What a great chain reaction Robert!
