Term 2 Week 6

Here is an overview of our learning activities for the week commencing 1st December 2025. At the moment there is a problem with the water supply to parts of Tunbridge Wells. If the school is unable to open on Monday, details of some learning activities which can be completed at home will be posted online.
This week in Phonics we will be learning about words with long vowels in them (such as ‘a’ in acorn, ’e’ in emu, ‘i’ in lion, ‘o’ in hotel and ‘u’ in unicorn). We will also be learning to read the words ‘who’ and ‘why’ and to spell the words ‘want’ and ‘their’.
In English, we will be continuing to learn about writing instructions.
In Maths, we will be learning about 2D and 3D shapes. This week we will be recognising and naming shapes and sorting them into groups.
In RE, the class will be discussing our key question of the term (Why does Christmas matter to Christians?) and reflecting on what we have learnt this term.
In our Computing and Art lessons, we will be using coloured dots to create a sunflower picture in the style of Georges Seurat and talking about whether we prefer painting with poster paints or creating digital art using a computer.
This week Willow Class will have PE on Thursday morning.
We are due to rehearse the KS1 Nativity play on Monday morning, Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday afternoon. We are looking forward to performing our play on Thursday 4h and Friday 5th December at 2:15pm.
If you have any questions or need help with anything, please contact us using the class email address (willow@st-barnabas.kent.sch.uk).
