Term 1 Week 5

Here is an overview of our learning activities for the week commencing 6th October 2025.
In Phonics, we will be learning to read and write words containing the ‘oy’ digraph (such as boy, toy and royal). We will also be reading the words ‘would’ and ‘want’ and writing the words ‘have’ and ‘like’.
In our English work we will be using the book ‘Where The Wild Thing Are’ by Maurice Sendak as a basis for our writing. This week we will be using adjectives to describe characters and scenes from the book.
In Maths, we will continue to focus on the numbers 0 to 10. This week we will be comparing numbers and groups, putting numbers in the correct order and using a number line to solve some maths problems.
In RE, we will be thinking about what we have learnt so far this term and will be continuing to discuss how Christians put their beliefs about God into action.
In Art, we will be drawing and painting self-portraits.
In Computing, we will be using a computer keyboard to type words.
Next week there are parent consultations on Monday and Tuesday (in the hall) and Thursday (in Willow Classroom) after school. Please sign up for an appointment in Arbor. If you are unable to attend on those days, please speak to Mrs Pring and she will try to sort out an alternative day to meet with you.
If you have any questions or need help with anything, please contact us using the class email address (willow@st-barnabas.kent.sch.uk).
