Term 1 Week 4

Here is an overview of our learning activities for the week commencing 29th September 2025.
This week in our English work, we are going to focus on the books ‘We are Going on a Bear Hunt’ by Michael Rosen and ‘The Gruffalo’ by Julia Donaldson. We will be discussing some of the pictures from the books and thinking of adjectives to describe some of the story settings.
In Maths, we will be continuing to focus on the numbers 0 to 10. This week we will be learning about the maths vocabulary less than (<), more than (>) and equal to (=) and we will be comparing groups of objects and numbers.
In RE, we will be discussing examples of how Christians put their beliefs about God into practice in worship.
Willow Class has PE on Thursday morning. The children will be continuing to develop their ball skills in team games.
On Tuesday, Willow Class will be visiting Lynne’s Organic Farm near Crowborough to learn about how fruit and vegetables grow and to talk to Farmer Jeremy about what it is like to live on a farm. The children need to wear welly boots and bring a spare pair of shoes and a packed lunch. We will be outside all day, so it is important the children wear warm clothes and a waterproof coat.
If you have any questions or need help with anything, please contact us using the class email address (willow@st-barnabas.kent.sch.uk).
