Term 5 Week 3

Here is an overview of our learning activities for the week commencing 5th May 2025.

This week Willow Class will be having swimming lessons in the morning each day (Tuesday to Friday). As per the Arbor message sent on Friday, please could all the Year 1 children come to school ready for the pool - underneath your uniform, so that you are ready for swimming at 9am after the registers have been taken. Please ensure they bring with them these items daily:

  • Appropriate swimwear. This is a one-piece swimming costume for girls and swimming shorts for boys (essential)
  • A towel (essential)
  • Swimming cap (essential). Soft fabric ones are available online - they are a lot easier than the plastic ones.
  • Strong plastic named bag (essential)
  • Silder/pool shoes for going to and from the changing areas (essential)
  • Goggles (non-essential)
  • T-Shirt (non-essential)

In our Phonics lessons, we will be learning about words containing the ‘er’ suffix, such as louder and quicker, and the ‘est’ suffix, such as loudest and quickest. We will also be reading the words ‘beautiful’ and ‘treasure’, and writing the words ‘Monday’ and ‘Tuesday’.
