Task 3
Ancient Greek pottery
First, research Ancient Greek pottery designs online (choosing a reputable source such as https://www.britannica.com/art/Greek-pottery). What themes were often depicted? What colours did they choose? Can you notice similarities between the artistic styles used? Be aware that some pottery may depict nude human forms- please check with parents before researching independently.
Next, design a plate, vase or other clay vessel with decorations based on an Ancient Greek myth. Try to make your images look as authentically Greek as possible.
Top tip: Draw around a real plate to get a perfectly circular shape! Or, if you’re feeling really ambitious, cut a vase shape out of cardboard and decorate it.
