Monday 1st December Online Learning

Task 1

Research at least one of these myths:

King Midas (The Midas Touch)
Icarus and Daedalus (The Flight of Icarus)
Persephone
Prometheus and Pandora (Pandora’s Box)
Echo and Narcissus

These myths are widely available to read online (e.g. https://greece.mrdonn.org/myths.html), as well as in many books and e-readers. There are also audiobooks and videos available- please check that videos ear made by a reputable source before watching! Please also note that ancient myths can be slightly different, depending on the source.

Option 1
Write a 3-5 paragraph summary of the myth. Make sure that your summary clearly identifies the beginning, key events, and ending.

Option 2
Write a setting description inspired by the myth. Use the skills that we practised in class, where you select vocabulary carefully in order to develop tone. Your description should be at least six sentences long.

Option 3
Write a character description inspired by the myth. Use the skills that we practised in class, where you select vocabulary carefully in order to develop tone. Your description should be at least six sentences long.

Dojo Points: For each task completed to a good standard (following the guidelines above; meeting basic capital letter and punctuation expectations) and submitted by Wednesday, you can earn 3 dojo points. You can read as many myths as you like, and submit as any pieces of written work as you like.

Task 2

Please complete attached maths worksheet on multiplication and division. Even if you're unsure how to answer a question, just give it a go!

Task 3

If you have time, please complete one of the attached reading comprehension tasks on Nelson Mandela. The 'spicy' one is slightly more tricky than the 'medium' one so please look at both and decide which one is best for you!

Please email me if you have any questions.
