We made it though week 1 :-) Below is a summary of what our learning will look like this week.

Reading - Whilst learning from home you should be aiming for 30 minutes of reading a day. This can be your reading book from school or a book from home. This week we will be continuing studying the book Stone Age Boy by Satoshi Kitamura. We will be looking at what we know about the Stone Age, we will be evaluating and recapping sections of the book. Towards the end of the week we will look at different texts and answering comprehension questions about them. We are looking forward to seeing you at our live story session which this week will be on Tuesday at 1pm with Mrs Atkinson.

English – We are going to continue with I was Born in the Stone Age by Michael Rosen. We are going to start planning and writing our own verses to add to the poem, we will do this by using our senses and building a word bank. We are also going to look at introducing apostrophes for singular possession.

Maths - Each day please start your maths learning by spending 10 minutes on number fluency, this will be a short online game posted in the blog. For this week learning we will be continuing our journey of multiplication looking at the 5 times table.

If you have any questions or queries relating to the homework tasks set for you this week, please do not hesitate to contact us via the class email, maple@st-barnabas.kent.sch.uk. We will aim to get back to you as quickly as possible, please be aware we will be working in class on some days as well but will check emails regularly.  Also, remember to keep us updated and send in your completed work. Wherever possible we will aim to give you feedback on the core subjects and add your work to the blog to help inspire you classmates.
