Term 5 Week 6

Here is an overview of our learning activities for week commencing 22nd May 2023.

In our Phonics lessons we will be learning about words containing the ‘tch’ trigraph, such as catch, witch and fetch. We will also be reading the words ‘door’ and ‘floor’, writing the words ‘Wednesday’ and ‘brother’ and revisiting alternative ways of making the ‘or’ sound.

In Maths, we will be learning about position and direction. This week we will be describing turns (quarter turn, half turn, three quarters turn, whole turn) and using the vocabulary forwards, backwards, left, right, above and below.

On Monday morning, we will be taking part in a puppetry workshop in the school hall and will also be having our class photograph taken.

This week in English we will be reading the story Jasper’s Beanstalk by Nick Butterworth and completing some activities about sequencing days of the week and using the past tense.

This week in RE we will be learning about the Hindu story of the Pearls and the Crow.

In Computing, we will be continuing to use the Bee-Bots to move from one location to another.

In Art, we will be looking at the work of Andy Goldsworthy and making some pictures using stones, leaves, and sticks.

Willow class have PE on Wednesday morning and Thursday morning. Please make sure that your child has their PE kit in school on these days.
