Term 5 Week 4

Here is an overview of our learning activities for week commencing 8th May 2023.

In our Phonics lessons we will be learning about words containing the ‘s’ suffix, such as cars and dogs and the ‘es’ suffix, such as buses and foxes. We will also be reading the words ‘scissors’ and ‘castle’, writing the words ‘live’ and ‘coming’ and revisiting alternative ways of making the ‘oa’ sound.

In Maths we will be recognising and finding half of an object and recognising and finding half of quantity. We will also be revisiting number facts for numbers up to 8 in our fluency work.

This week in English we will be reading the story Oi Frog by Kes Gray and Jim Field and doing some activities about groups of animals and rhyming words.

This week in RE we will be learning about the Islamic story of the Crying Camel.

In our Time and Place work we will continue learning about the United Kingdom and different features of it.

In Computing we will be continuing to use the Bee-Bots and will be moving them forwards, backwards, left and right.

In Art we will be sketching and painting flower pictures.

Willow class have PE on Wednesday morning and Thursday morning. Please make sure that your child has their PE kit in school on these days.
