Term 4 Week 3

Here is an overview of our learning activities for week commencing 6th March 2023.

In Phonics, we will be learning to read and write words containing the ‘ow’ digraph (such as slow, own and window) and the ‘oe’ digraph (such as toe, doe and goes) which both make on ‘oa’ sound in some words. We will also be reading the words ‘once’ and ‘please’ and writing the words ‘thought’ and ‘through’.

This week in English the children will be using adjectives to describe our new story settings and will start to plan Traction Man’s new adventure.

In Maths we will be continuing to learn about numbers up to 50. This week we will be making groups of 10, partitioning numbers and reading two digit numbers up to 50.

In RE, we will be talking about The Easter Story and sequencing the events of Holy Week. As part of our work on Time and Place we will be talking about Christopher Columbus and thinking about the similarities and differences between life in the early 1500s and life today. In Computing, we will be learning to use the letter, number and space keys to add text to a document and will use the backspace to remove text.

On Friday morning we will be going to see Room on The Broom at the Assembly Hall with Acorn Class.
