Term 4 Week 2

Here is an overview of our learning activities for week commencing 27th February 2023.

In Phonics, we will be learning to read and write words containing the ‘au’ digraph (such as August, autumn and launch) and the ‘aw’ digraph (such as paw, claw and draw). We will also be reading the words ‘friend’ and ‘also’ and writing the words ‘who’ and ‘why’.

We will be continuing to use the book ‘Traction Man is Here’ by Mini Grey as a basis for our English Work. This week the children will be using adjectives to describe some of the settings in the book and will start to think about a new adventure for Traction Man. On Thursday it is World Book day and we will be completing some activities linked to the story of ‘The Hairdo that Got Away’ by Joseph Coelho.

In Maths we will be finishing our work on addition and subtraction on Monday. We will then start learning about numbers up to 50. This week we will be counting from 20 to 50, learning about counting in 10s and will be making groups of 10.

In RE, we will be talking about The Last Supper and some of the instructions that Jesus gave to his disciples. As part of our Science work, we will be observing changes in the weather across the week and continuing to record our findings on a weather chart. In Computing, we will be learning about some of the buttons on a computer keyboard and what they do.

Willow class have PE on Wednesday morning and Thursday morning, so please make sure that on these days your child has their PE kit in school and that earrings are removed where possible.
