This Week's Learning

Term 3 Week 3

In English this week, we are going to focus on turning the instruction sentences that we created last week into complete pieces of instruction writing. We will explore how an introduction, 'You Will Need' section, sequencing vocabulary and a conclusion can be used to enhance our writing.

In Phonics, we are going to teach the tricky words: 'poor' and 'great'. We are also going to explore how the 'er' and 'est' suffix is added to words ending in 'y'.

In guided reading we will be focusing on 'The Paper Bag Princess' with a specific focus on comprehension questions relating to Vocabulary, Retrieval and Prediction.

In Maths, we are going to continue to learn about money. We will find the total amount of pounds and pence and select notes and coins to make desired amounts. We will also explore alternative ways of making the same amount.

In Science and Computing, we are going to continue our Robot Algorithms unit of work by creating algorithms for floor robots.

In Time and Place, we are going to read traditional stories about Knights and Castles and harvest common themes.

We will also complete Handwriting, PHSCE, Number Fluency, PE, RE, and Design and the Arts lessons as well.

If you would like to know more about any of these activities, please do not hesitate to contact us via the class email address.
