Friday Challenge: June 12th

I have been thinking about arranging the tables and chairs in the classroom.

Here is the arrangement that I have decided upon:

Can you work out how many chairs are required to fit around 4 tables?

What about 5 tables?

What about 6 tables?

Do you notice a pattern in your results?

Can you work out the number of chairs that would be required to fit around 100 tables?

TOP TIP: Look for a relationship between the number of tables and the number of chairs.

EXTENSION: Can you write out a formula which shows the relationship between the number of tables (T) and the number of chairs (C)?
