Term 6 Week 2

Here is an overview of our learning activities for week commencing 13th June 2022.

In Phonics this week we will be learning about the ‘er’ and ‘ing’ suffixes. We will also be continuing to read nonsense and real words including the phonemes we have learnt this year.

This term we will be linking our English and Time and Place work to write some information about each of the 7 continents. This week we will start learning about Antarctica and will start writing a fact file about it. In Maths we will be continuing to work with numbers up to 100. This week we will be partitioning numbers into Tens and Ones and comparing some 2 digit numbers using the vocabulary ‘more than’, ‘greater than’ and ‘less than’. As part of our Maths fluency work we will be recalling subtraction number bonds for numbers between 5 and 10. We will also be comparing groups of objects and describing the similarities and differences between them.

In RE we will be learning about Sikhism and the story of the Milk and the Jasmine Flower. We will then complete some activities linked to this. As part of our Science and Art work, we will be drawing plants and looking at the similarities and differences between them. We are also hoping to get a delivery of caterpillars during the week, which we are going to watch develop into butterflies over this term. In PE on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning, we will be continuing to develop our athletic skills.
