Term 5 Week 5

Here is an overview of our learning activities for week commencing 16th May 2022.

In Phonics this week we will be continuing to revisit ‘aw’ and ‘au’ and will be reading and writing words containing these sounds. We will also be learning about alternative sounds for ‘c’ (ice) and ‘g’ (gem).

In English we will be continuing to look at the story ‘The Great Explorer’ by Chris Judge and writing some diary entries using past tense verbs.

In Maths we will be learning about finding a quarter of some shapes and groups of objects. As part of our Maths fluency work we will be adding groups of objects together and investigating the similarities and differences between some adding number sentences.

In RE we will be learning about the Muslim Story of the Crying Camel and thinking about the importance of caring for animals. As part of our Science work we will be learning about deciduous and evergreen trees. Willow class will still have PE on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday morning. We will be continuing to develop our athletic skills this week. In Computing we will be using Purple Mash to do some coding and to create Spring pictures.
