Term 4 Week 3

8th March 2021

We are so excited to welcome everyone back this week. We will be having a gentle ‘settling in’ week, remembering routines and rules, recapping on hygiene techniques and catching up with all our friends.

There is a slight change to the staffing through the week.

Monday and Tuesday will be Mrs Atkinson and Mrs Allee in the morning

Wednesday will be Mrs Smallcombe with Mrs Allee in the morning

Thursday and Friday will be Mrs Thompsett with Mrs Allee in the morning.

PE will be on a Tuesday and a Thursday, please make sure your child is wearing suitable PE kit for the day.

What will we be learning this week,

Maths - we will be starting a new topic looking at length and perimeter. This will be very practical based. We will start the week by remembering how to measure before moving on to converting between different unts.

English – We are going to continue with non-chronological report, we will be recapping the skills learnt over the last 2 weeks.

Reading – We will carry on with ‘Stig of the Dump’ as a class read but we will also start to look at the book ‘The Hodgeheg’ by Dick King Smith.

Homework – We will start this again from next week. We will be changing the days slightly, homework is still due in every Monday but will be given out on a Tuesday. This will give everyone slightly longer to complete. If your child is still on banded books these will be changed every Monday and Thursday. Please remember to read the book at least twice so that they can practice the different vocabulary. If your child is an independent reader they are free to change their books once finish.

If you are continuing to learn from home please can you let us know via the class email address – maple@st-barnabas.kent.sch.uk
