Here are your learning tasks for Wednesday 3rd March 2021.

Please join us for live registration. Mrs Pring will be there to welcome you, take the register and talk you through today’s learning.

9:00am: Live English Lesson

This morning, we will recap our learning from yesterday and talk about the adjectives (describing words) you used in your descriptions of Traction Man’s outfits.

Reading

Remember to read for at least 20 minutes at home today. This can be any type of text – fiction book, non-fiction book, comic, newspaper, etc. A reading comprehension on The Last Wolf has been included with this blog for you to complete.

Phonics

Today we are revisiting the digraph ‘ie’, which is in words such as tie, pies and dried.  We are also revisiting the split digraph ‘i-e’, which is in words such as slide, kite and bike. Below is a video to watch to recap what we have learnt.

Talk about the ‘ie and ‘i-e’ sounds.  Can you say the sounds?  Can you write the sounds in words? Look at the activity sheet attached to this blog. Write in the missing words.

Maths

Our focus today is on comparing lengths and height. First, watch the learning video about length:

Spr1.8.4 - Measure length activity on Vimeo

Now try some things in your home to use as measures. You could use paper clips or blocks or lego bricks but make sure that they are all the same size and that there are no spaces in between them when you are measuring. Remember to send in photographs of your measuring activities.

Maths Fluency

Today we would like you to practise counting in 2s. There is a sheet attached to this blog for you to use or you can make your own number cards using a blank piece of paper. Write the numbers counting in 2s from 2 to 50. Make a number card for each number and then muddle them up. Can you sort them into the right order? Play a game with a member of your family where the numbers are face down in order and you have to say the number before you turn it over. Good luck.
