Here are the home learning tasks for today.

8:50am- Live Registration:

Remember to tune in to take part in our live registration. Mrs Pring will be there to welcome you, take the register and talk you through today’s learning. If you have any questions or do not understand something about today’s learning, please ask. This is a great opportunity for us to share ideas and ask questions.

 9:00am- Live Maths Lesson:

This morning, we will be continuing to practise counting in 2s. Mrs Pring will talk to you about today’s task and go through part of today’s activity. A copy of the worksheet is attached to this blog.

If you are not able to attend the Live session then you can watch the White Rose Maths Video using this link: Spr1.7.2 - Count in 2s on Vimeo.

Don’t forget to join the class storytime at 2:30pm today.

Phonics

Today we are revisiting the digraph ‘ay’ which is in words like stay, play and spray.  We are also revisiting the split digraph ‘a-e’ which is in words like make, snake and same. Below is a video to watch to recap what we have learnt:  https://youtu.be/LX9Ye2IE8f0

Talk about the ‘ay and ‘a-e’ sounds.  Can you say the sound?  Can you write the sound in words? Look at the activity sheet attached to this blog. Practise reading the words. You could also cut out the words and pictures and then try matching them back together.

English

Today we would like you to write a character description for the evil pea in the Supertato story. Watch the video below where Mrs Pring talks about what you need to do: https://youtu.be/tZz9LJVQXSM

Activity: Write a character description for the evil pea. A template is attached to this blog. Remember to use some exciting adjectives (describing words) and conjunctions (and, because) in your character description. When you have completed your character description, please send them in to us so we can share them with the rest of the class.

Number Fluency

Can you find all the number facts for 12?

A copy of the sheet above is attached to this blog.

Art – Beatriz Milhazes

This week we would like you to create a collage of different shapes and colours in the style of Brazilian artist Beatriz Milhazes. She is a collage artist and painter who uses very colourful materials to create pictures. Watch the video below to find out more about her artwork: https://youtu.be/O22rC97HBqg

Now look at the activity sheet attached to this blog. It contains some shapes that you could use in your artwork. Alternatively, you could create your own shapes and patterns. Remember to make your artwork colourful and to use a range of shapes.

As always, if you need help with any of these activities, please do not hesitate to contact us via the class email address.
